Ever wanted to learn more about the fungi that grow in Leicestershire?
The Leicestershire Fungi Study Group was were founded in 1980 and are affiliated with
- Leicester Literary & Philosophical Society,
- British Mycological Society
- Leicestershire Museums Service.
Their aims are to encourage the study of fungi and their allies, especially in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
They are an informal group who value friendship and social contact and have a good mix of experts and beginners and who make children especially welcome.
Members’ interests range from very general to more specific, like lichens, slime moulds, fungal pests and diseases, and even cooking and painting.
The group orgainse meetings and forays, produce a newsletter and have access to fungi libraries and collections.
