Studio Upstairs

Studio Upstairs are an are an arts and health charity with branches in Bristol and London. Their vision is for a world in which everyone can transform their life through creative community.

They provide positive, life-changing interventions for people with mental or emotional difficulties within an artistic therapeutic community. They will support you to enhance your well-being and health, reinforce and recharge your creativity and achieve your own goals.

Whether a Studio Member, Volunteer, Team Member, Associate Member or Workshop Participant you will both benefit from and contribute to a shared creative and therapeutic endeavour.

Creative Hands Foundation

Creative Hands Foundation is a charity which aims to educate young people and adults in creative arts and music skills for posterity and social economic benefits thus enabling them to achieve their full potential.

They aim to:

  • Increase arts and crafts activities for young people, adults and families

  • Reduce the number of isolated young people, adults and families

  • Improve young people and adults skills

  • Improve well-being of young people and adults

  • Raise aspirations and increase young people and adults achievements

They provide accredited courses, cultural arts and crafts workshops and volunteering for  young people and adults aiming to start their own creative arts business.

ALL FM

ALL FM 96.9 is a community radio station broadcasting to south, central and east Manchester and is one of the longest running community radio stations in the UK.

The output is almost entirely volunteer led with just a small team of staff running the studios and managing community projects.

Broadcasting 24 hours a day, ALL FM delivers varied and distinctive community radio for all listeners, with content including debates, discussions, live bands, comedy, plays, community news and programming in a variety of languages.  

With areas of volunteering including presenting, operations and marketing, there are ways for everyone to get involved.

Sound Bites

Sound Bites is an independent ethical wholefood shop and not-for-profit workers co-op, specialising in a wide range of vegetarian, vegan foods and free from foods – many of which are Fairtrade and/or organic.

They began in 2005 to increase availability of ethical food and support positive social change in our local community.

Offer an organic veg box home delivery scheme. 

The Sound Bites Social Change library is now hosted by Yaffle Cafe above the shop. It’s been created to inform, engage and inspire. 

The Nibbler is Sound Bites’ quarterly newsletter and contains updates on our progress, information about local groups and events, and articles on wider issues relating to food and sustainability.

Room for Hire While the cafe is not in use the room is available to hire for very reasonable rates, for small meetings.

Choirs R Us

Choirs R Us is a lively, friendly choir in Barnet with over 100 members who sing pop, soul and gospel every Monday evening.

It's a great way to make friends and there's no audition or need to read music as the songs are taught by ear.

The Stables Horse Activity Centre

The Daffodil Society

The daffodil society aims to promote the whole of the genus Narcissus, the botanical name for our favourite flower the daffodil.  

The daffodil society is open to everyone, from keen gardeners to horticultural and gardening societies, growers, botanists and flower show exhibitors.

The website contains information about growing daffodils and daffodil bulb suppliers but for those who can't wait it also contains information on places where native daffodils can be seen.
